ROBO SPEECH EXPRESS (RoSE)

Rules

RoSE 2017 celebrates the exciting speech presentations by students on any topics related to robotics or automation. This activity cultivates students’ presentation and communication skills in a fun and enjoyable way. The competition supports a participant's capacity to effectively explain the selected topic in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

The aim is to promote sharing of information on robotics technology and to promote self-confidence among students.

What is  ROBO SPEECH EXPRESS (RoSE) 2017?

•             The speech topic must be related to robotics and automation.

•             Speech presentation is strictly not more than 3 minutes

•             A single static PowerPoint slide may be used during the speech (optional)

•             Presentations must be in either English or Malay Language (no mix-mode allowed)

•             No additional electronic media (e.g. sound and video files)

•             No additional props (e.g. hardware of project, laboratory equipment)

•             Presentation commences when the contestant starts their presentation through either movement or speech

•             The decision of the adjudicating panel is final

Judging Criteria

Engagement & Communication

 

Was it a fun and an enjoyable presentation?

Did the oration make the audience want to know more?

Did the presenter convey enthusiasm for the topic?

Was the topic selected interesting to the general audience?

Did the participant speaks clearly, with suitable tone of voice and good eye contact with the audience?

 

 

 

 

Comprehension & Content

Did the presentation provide an understanding of the topic and its significance?

Did the presentation clearly describe the contents of the topic and conclusion/outcome?

Did the presentation follow a clear and logical sequence in good timing?

Fee

Free for all students from FKP UTeM

RM 10 registration fee for non-FKP students

Fees to be paid during registration on 8th March 2017
